Blue Sky Moments Program Team

Horses can play a huge part in the healing process after trauma. Our equine mentorship program is the first of its kind in our area. We pair each participant with a trained volunteer mentor and a horse, allowing them to build resilience through a committed relationship in order to move beyond the trauma they faced early in life.

A person with short dark hair in a white shirt gently holding a brown horse's face outdoors in a fenced pasture, with a background of green fields and trees under a partly cloudy sky.

Could God use YOU to help change a life?

What does a Mentor do?

  • Models a consistent meaningful relationship

  • Offers encouragement & support during sessions

  • Helps create a safe environment where participants can ask questions, talk openly and experience the healing love of Jesus

  • Listens to the Holy Spirit and follow his lead into every conversation and activity

  • Provides opportunities to build resiliency skills through connection with a horse, arts & crafts, games, gardening, and more

  • Guides the time together toward what the participant needs in that moment

John 15:12 This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

The heart of our program is hope, healing and the redeeming love of Christ.

Mentors walk alongside participants who have experienced foster care, adoption, hardship, or instability.

Many of the children & families we serve simply need someone in their corner.
